Irene graduated in 2016 from UC Irvine with a Bachelors degree in Anthropology.
During her time at UCI she was heavily involved in the Student Alumni Association and the Social Science Mentorship program.
Irene is passionate about volunteering, otudoor skills, and connecting with new people. She is a volunteer on the planning committee for Mojave Primitive Encampment, a Girl Scout program for middle school and high school girls in the Los Angeles area.

Cindy graduated from UC Irvine with a degree in Social Policy, Political Science, and Education.
As a student at UCI, Cindy participated in various on-campus internship opportunities such as Jumpstart and Global Connect. She also studied abroad through UCEAP in China and Sweden, and interned in Washington, D.C. on two separate occasions, one being with UCDC.

Tony is an experienced Real Estate Broker with Coldwell Banker. He specializes in Residential sales in the Beach cities (Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, Palos Verdes and Torrance)
He is determined to help families through every different stage of their life. He is very passionate about dance and music. He is a volunteer ballroom instructor at YMCA and also a Taiko drum player.

Viola Van is currently pursuing her Master’s in Public Health at the Claremont Graduate University. She received her B.A. in Anthropology from UC Irvine.
Before returning to graduate school, she was a Field Representative and Caseworker for the Honorable Congressmember Judy Chu of the 27th Congressional District. As a field representative, she worked on various issue areas which included the Asian Pacific Islander (API) communities, health, seniors, immigration, women’s issues. She hopes to continue her career in public service in local government in the capacity of city or county level work focusing on maternal and child health as well as access to health in low socioeconomic communities.

Edgar graduated on June 2015 from UC Irvine as a double-major in Political Science and Economics. Aside from reading and learning about these subjects,
Edgar majored in political science and economics because these are two concrete notions that affect the lives of each individual in a unique manner. Edgar's long-term career plans revolve around representing our community in politics, and participating in improving the conditions of the Southeast Los Angeles region.

Preston Chan, P.E.
Preston Chan is an experienced Real Estate Developer, Broker, and Structural Engineer. Mr. Chan is currently the Director of Development at a commercial real estate firm and oversees all aspects of the real estate development process including acquisitions, entitlements, and project management. He has developed and managed projects ranging from 20,000 SF – 150,000 SF of office, industrial, and commercial condo buildings.
In addition, Mr. Chan started his own real estate brokerage firm, Wayfind Realty, and specializes in residential sales in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Orange County.
Andrew Chou, CFP ('00)
K. Kerry Ayazi, ('95) completed her undergraduate studies at UCI in Psychology and English.
Ms. Ayazi is currently General Counsel and Vice-President for a nonprofit healthcare entity. Previously Ms. Ayazi was a litigator defending professional entities, premises, products liability and commercial matters.
Ms. Ayazi is an advisory resource to the UCI School of Social Sciences Office of Development, also serving as a mentor and panel speaker. Kerry is also a mentor to the UCI School of Law and her law school alma mater Rutgers School of Law. In 2015, Ms. Ayazi assisted to launch the inaugural UCI School of Social Sciences alumni DTLA networking program and she looks forward to continuing to mentor UCI students and engage UCI alumni across all facets.

Don McLaurin has had a varied career of public service. After nearly 10 years with the University of California as a staff member, he joined the City of Los Angeles as a Management Assistant, with positions in the Port of Los Angeles Port Police and Port Pilot divisions as a Management Assistant.
He currently holds the rank of Lieutenant. Don's active duty assignments have included serving as an interpreter for Mandarin Chinese on three fishing patrols of the North Pacific Ocean, and a Situation Unit member for the Deepwater Horizon National Incident Command.
Nina Ries, Esq
Nina B. Ries is an attorney with extensive experience in business and real estate, representing clients in litigation as well as on transactional matters.
Ms. Ries is a Southern California native. She attended college at the University of California at Irvine, where she triple-majored in Political Science (with honors), Philosophy, and Sociology, was active in a number of campus groups and organizations, including the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Currently, Ms. Ries sits on the UC Irvine Alumni Association Board of Directors.
Michael is Head of User Experience at The Mobile Majority in Los Angeles, California.
He has founded and advised several companies ranging from one of the most popular social apps in the iTunes store to the most used hospice software in the country. He loves turning ideas into tangible working products and believes in a holistic user experience that also includes elements outside the confinements of just the digital screen. He has helped companies like Grindr, Honda, EXOS, MC & Saatchi, Daily Associates, Ohio State University, HCHB, DivX, and Entertainment Arts. Michael has taught at UCLA and Cal State Long Beach and received his BA from UC Irvine.
Andrew Chou ('00) graduated from UC Irvine with a degree in Social Science.
Andrew co-founded the UCI Los Angeles Alumni Chapter in 2012. Andrew, along with the founding board members developed the Los Angeles chapter into one of the largest and most active alumni Chapter of UCI. Due to his leadership role with the Los Angeles alumni chapter and his contribution to the alumni community, Andrew was selected to serve on the UCI Alumni Association Board in 2012. He also serves on the UCI Alumni Association Scholarship Committee and actively participates in UCI Giving Day, Homecoming, and other alumni events.
In addition to running a full service financial services practice, Andrew also teaches several courses in the accelerated CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER program at UC Irvine Division of Continued Education. He is also an appointed Commissioner for the City of Diamond Bar.
